Clara Wei Fu is an illustrator born in Taiwan and currently based in London. She completed an MA in Sequential Design/Illustration from University of Brighton in 2015.
She looks for inspirations from everyday life. She likes observing people in the big, busy city, but also spends time taking a walk in the parks and enjoying the moment. Her recent project, Grandpa’s Fantastic Garden, is a picture book about a little girl’s imaginative journey into a beautiful and peaceful garden where she feels safe and calm. It illustrates a joyful and creative world with the aim of exploring the theme of mindfulness.
Her work I Miss You was the 2018 iJungle Illustration Book Merit Award Winner. The picture books illustrates the warm and nostalgic Taiwanese streets and traditional markets, which are inspired by her childhood memories.
She is also a member of "Fabula Collective", an international art group featuring muti-disciplinary artists such as illustrators, graphic designers and film makers. The collective has organised exhibitions and events in Brighton, Hastings, Seoul and China.
